Reviews and Ratings
The hotel staff were really lovely showing us around and explaining everything. The room was large with a very comfy bed and huge bathroom, making for a comfortable stay. The service was top-notch, with extremely well-trained and knowledgeable staff. The location was great for visiting Bath, especially with easy access by car. The dining experience had considerable gluten and dairy-free options but lacked in speed at one instance. The facilities were well-kept and added to the overall experience.
Arriving to a slight odor was a downside, but the hotel's historic luxury bedrooms made up for it. Spacious and well-equipped, the rooms were a delight. However, service lacked customer understanding and experienced unnecessary delays. The hilltop location offered lovely views, though driving into the city posed parking challenges. Dining was a mixed experience with allergen concerns but enjoyable moments. Not perfect but overall a decent stay.
I was lucky enough to stay in the main house, which was a wonderful experience. The room was spacious, with a large king bed, tall ceilings, and lovely heavy curtains. The recent refurbishment to a high standard was noticeable, and I appreciated the real bottle of milk in the fridge for tea and toast. However, the service was let down by being very understaffed, impacting the overall experience. The location was lovely and relaxing, close to Bath city center, although parking presented some challenges. The dining options were well laid out and had delicious choices, though improvements could be made. Overall, a comfortable stay with friendly staff and good value for money.
